RECENT RESEARCH OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE
Cutting edge clinical research is being implemented in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of newly opened Cincinnati Children’s Critical Care Building, where a unique spectral lighting system builds upon recent discoveries about how light affects human development. Our new Critical Care Tower is the first pediatric hospital in the nation to utilize this technology. A variety of research projects are planned to determine how managing light exposures can influence circadian rhythms, eye development, metabolism, and more.
